May The Fourth Be With You

Happy Friday!

One more week! The weather is getting nice at last...and the end of year excitement has begun!

First grade-Hieroglyphics
We are starting a very short lesson on Hieroglyphics for this week and next. We learned that the symbols they make for their language is quite similar to our alphabet. We will be learning more about the Egyptians and their customs, as well as creating our names in Hieroglyphics next week.

Second Grade- End of novel projects
This week we shared our end of novel projects from the Indian in the Cupboard. The kids did an amazing job of creating the shelters for their toys.  Students enjoyed sharing their creations with their classmates.

Third grade- Black Beauty
We have completed our reading of the novel!! We looked more at the character traits and interactions that occurred throughout the novel.

Fourth grade- Westing Game
Students did an awesome job on their wanted posters for the end of the novel project. We continue to talk about the agent of change in regards to the characters.

Math-All grade levels- review

We took a day and reviewed all of our skills from the year to be ready for the unit test this week as well. Students did a great job and will be bringing home both the pre-test and post-test next week!

All grade levels will be finishing up any loose ends next week with language arts and in Math we will be making some fun STEM projects that will allow us to explore how Science and Math work together.  I am looking forward to this last fun week with the kids!

Have a fabulous weekend!
