Fourth Grade Language Arts

ILEARN on Monday and Tuesday

Fourth Grade Math

On Wednesday, we meet for about 20 minutes and the kids began their Chapter assessment and took time to relax from a morning of ILEARN testing.

ILEARN on Thursday

Second Grade Language Arts

On Monday, we read a few more chapters and tried to watch part of the movie. I was having technical difficulties that the boys tried to help with, but alas, I needed to get a special cord. Half of the boys finished the novel and the other two need to complete the book. They can do it! Only a few chapters left along with the coda.

On Tuesday, I proctored ILEARN testing and was unable to meet with the children.

Second Grade Math

On Wednesday, we didn't meet due to ILEARN.

On Thursday, we met briefly and did some Perplexors. We were unable to meet in the high ability room because the third graders were still testing.

Third Grade Language Arts

On Monday, we watched the trailer of the 1994 movie adaptation. We also discussed chapters 37-43 and made sure we were all on the same page. I would love to watch the 1971 version of the movie (or even the 1944) because those are what I grew up watching. I think the 1994 version runs pretty closely with the book and I look forward to watching it with the girls.

On Tuesday, we began watching the movie together after a day of testing.

Third Grade Math

On Wednesday, we finished working on our calculations of how much room a Yeti may need at school. Again, the children worked together to double dimensions and answer questions.

Our Kindness Corner

Every day, I see a child or children--here at Brummitt, lifting up another child. There was the new student in fourth grade making new friends, the small group of second graders helping each other in math class, the third grade girls lifting up another girl who was feeling low. It reminds me to be more like them. Innocently lifting each other up--without any expectations for anything in return.

Have a great weekend!
