For All:
I have to start with how polite and kind the students were that I worked with this week.  Please and thank you's rolled off of their tongues quite easily.  Awesome job Brummitt parents and Brummitt staff!  It was noticed.  It has been my pleasure to work with them this week!

After picking students up from their classes, we made our way back to the classroom.  I walked them to our morning/afternoon message where they will start their day.  Here they will read the message, which often times, will give them a direction to do.  Wednesday we greeted 3 plus people and welcomed them to HA before checking in with their rock.  Thursday they gave a thumbs up if they were excited to start HA.  Each student has a rock with their name on it that they will take home at the end of the year.  It's a quick and efficient way to see if everyone is here before we start our day.

Next, we made our way to our learning clubs.  I showed them a brief PowerPoint Presentation which went over procedures, expectations, and a little bit about me.  I gave them about ten minutes to color their bubbled name which will help me until I learn everyone's names.  Then it was time to find out more about them!

Language Arts for All:
They were each given a BINGO like board for "Find Someone Who . . . ".  Their objective was to mingle with their classmates and myself until they completed their board.  It was great to learn many interesting things about each student.  Who was afraid of spiders?  Who likes broccoli?  Who has a birthday in March?  Who is a middle child?  Who has a special talent?  A few of the proud talents mentioned were able to roll their tongue, sew and play a sport!  For the classes that were especially small in numbers, we signed multiple times.  They were each given a smelly sticker before heading back to class which they were excited about.  I loved them too when I was their age!

Math for All:
We continued to learn more about each other on Thursday, but with a different activity.  Each learning club had a game board, spinner, and die.  Using a combination of spinning the spinner and rolling the die . . . it directed them to a question on the game board.  If they got a 4 and red . . . they were asked how many years they have been at this school?  If they rolled a 2 and yellow . . .What is the first quality you look for in a friend?  Their game board was 6 X 6 in size, so there were many questions to learn from.  Even when we repeated, it was often for a different person.  They really know each other and often knew the answer before their friend answered it.  I was impressed.  There were several new things that they learned about their classmates.  I sure learned a lot!
